Description

Te Puku o Te Ika (TPOTI), in association with Waka Ama New Zealand (WANZ), is the proud host of the 2016 Te Wānanga o Aotearoa Long Distance Nationals.

The event will be held in Tauranga at Marine Park Reserve, Sulphur Point on the 30th September and 1st October with the welcome Thursday 29th September and racing Friday 30th September and Saturday 1st October. Sunday 2nd October will be kept as a reserve day in case of bad weather for any of the events.


Trolleys and Tires for LDN

A message for all clubs bringing Waka to LDN - please bring waka trolley and tires for your canoes. The area that rigged canoes will be situated is asphalt and a 50m distance from the launch area. Any questions contact [email protected]

  • 20th September Late entries close

Entries received after the 9th September will be late Entries and will be charged an additional $20 per paddler. 

Note: any club that withdraws teams after 16th September will still be charged the Full Entry fee. Entries will be done via the Waka Ama New Zealand website (as per sprint nationals) and will need to be entered by your club coordinator.
