Tui Tonga Canoe Club Compound Vandalism
It is with sadness to report that the Tui Tonga Canoe Club compound in Mangere Bridge was again attacked and vandalized last week by persons unknown. We have worked really hard to organise a safe place to store our canoes and it is hugely disappointing that this occurred while many of our members were away representing Tonga at the IVF Tahiti World Distance Championships last week.
As you can see from the photos below the fence is a write off and the damage amounts to tens of thousands of dollars. Luckily the Canoes are intact and no further equipment was stolen. Just a month ago someone broke into our compound and stole two trolleys and the wheels for another trolley.
The police have been notified but please if you hear anyone talking, boasting or gossiping about this latest incident or if you have any information that may help do not hesitate to contact the Counties Manukau Police or me via messenger or email to [email protected]
