Congratulations to all the novice and junior paddlers who participated well, we hope you all keep paddling. And to our first time paddlers of the 25km race, well done, an awesome achievement.
For paddlers in the 12km OC1, OC2 and Junior OC6 race you should be pleased to know the course was actually 14km due to a drifting buoy.
The 25km Open Men's race was won by Pineula (Auckland), and the Chrissy Herbert Memorial trophy for the first Women's crew home in the 25km race was won by Team Paddle Up Again (a combined crew from various north island clubs). The Stand Up Paddle (7km) Division was well contested by 17 paddlers, and won by Jeremy Stephenson (Auckland).
We would like to thank all the local businesses who continue to support us with spot-prizes. Also a very special thanks to our safety crew Kevin and Viv of Raglan CoastGuard, Kelvyn, Lumba, Simon, Roy, and their associated crews on the support vessels.
We welcome any feedback from paddlers, and apologise as there are a few times missing
Kia ora
