As many of you will have seen, a new law has been passed regarding the wearing of Life Jackets. This law has taken effect nationally across New Zealand on 9 October 2026.

Mangere Bridge to French Bay Regatta - CANCELLED
Portage Crossing Traditional Canoeing & Sailing Assn have advised that the event scheduled for this Saturday will no longer go ahead. They will contact clubs directly if required, regarding any entry fee refunds.

NHM Hard n Fast and MOCC Taitamariki/Intermediate last series events are cancelled due to rāhui
Due to Saturday night's Rāhui Notice, placed for the whole Waitemata estuary from Highbrook all the way out past Bucklands, for seven days from today until Sunday next week, the Nga Hau Maiangi Hard n Fast Regatta 5 (8th August), and the Manukau Taitamariki/Intermediate race 5 (August 9th), have been cancelled. Unfortunately this is beyond our control and the clubs wish to respect the rāhui that has been paced in the estuary. The clubs would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge all teams that have supported these two series, and wish all teams going to IVF Singapore all the best. Ngā mihi

Hoe Tonga Series, Race 3 this weekend - Weather Update
Due to the impending unfavourable weather coming into Wellington, PCKC have made an early call to postpone Saturday's racing until Sunday August 2nd. All current entries remain valid for the change to Sunday. If you need to make changes for your club, the entry system has been re-opened for today only to change/withdrew teams. Please note, the day will still be cold, so make sure paddlers have the right gear for the conditions! PCKC Race Organising Team
