Tuna e Hoe Ana - Entries Open
The Tuna e Hoe Ana – “Paddling with the eels” is a unique Alpine waka ama experience situated in the beautiful Kerr Bay, Lake Rotoiti in the Nelson Lakes National Park area. MEDIA ALERT: 4,600+ Individuals to Race at Biggest Waka Ama Nationals To Date
Karāpiro is set to host the largest event it’s ever seen, the 2026 Waka Ama Sprint Nationals, with 800 more paddlers than last year, being a first in the sport’s history and one of the biggest national sporting events in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The Waka Ama Aotearoa NZ Office will be closed from 19 December 2025 to 5 January 2026, with emails checked intermittently for Sprint Nationals club administration.
