Waka Ama Aotearoa NZ Sprint Nationals - Important Event Updates for 2027 and beyond
Following an outstanding 2026 Sprint Nationals that exceeded growth expectations, and to ensure we continue creating space within both the participant experience, event schedule and venue capacity, please see below a number of important updates that will be introduced moving forward for our National Sprint Event.

Pakuranga Beach Series #3 - Narrowneck Beach, new date!
Pakuranga OCC have re-scheduled the Narrowneck event to Saturday July 4th. Entries are open - same venue, same distances, same events. Please note, all existing entries have been removed. Paddlers will need to contact their club administrator to enter for the new date.

Event Cancellation - Pakuranga Beach Series, Narrowneck Beach
Kia ora everyone, Unfortunately, due to the severe weather forecast and in the interest of everyone's safety, we have made the decision to cancel tomorrow's beach event. While we're disappointed not to be able to go ahead, the safety of our participants, volunteers, whānau, and supporters must come first. All participants who have already paid will receive a full refund. We will be in touch over the coming days regarding the refund process. Thank you all for your understanding, support, and enthusiasm for the event. We know many of you were looking forward to it, and we're just as disappointed to have to make this call. Te Waka o Aoraki - Elected Board Member Nominations
On March 30, a new constitution was voted in by clubs at the SGM. The region is shifting to a new governance structure which involves the establishment of three Rohe or zones across Te Waipounamu within which clubs reside and a Board of Directors.
