Nga Tai Whakarongo will be reintroducing the Waikato Awa Race in 2017 and we are looking forward to hosting clubs from around the region and potentially from around the country.

We have tried to provide some variety in race distances, but we have also provided the 30km to allow paddlers to use it as preparation for other races, like Long Distance Nationals or Vaka Eiva 2017. We acknowledge that it will be a bit different given it is on the mighty Waikato Awa with its sometimes unpredictable currents.

RACE FEES:

• 10km W6 - $25 per paddler ($150 per crew)

• 15km W1 & W2 - $25 per paddler

• 30km W6 - $35 per paddler ($210 per crew)

We will have limited spaces for each race as part of our safety plan and will adopt a waiting list for all other interested parties.

Registration, followed by payment will secure your spot in the race.

Part payments will be considered as koha to our junior club, along with incorrect referencing.
