Kaihoe Whaikaha - Have a Go Day

Waka Ama NZ in collaboration with Parafed Waikato will be hosting a Waka Ama Have a Go Day for all tāngata whaikaha (people with disabilities) as part of a Water Sports Day.  

Water sports activities include waka ama (waka taurua), kayaking, paddle boarding, biscuiting off the boat, ziplining, archery, 50 metre long water slide and swimming pool.

This is an awesome opportunity to try out the sport of waka ama and other water activities! Bring your family along to join in the fun.
A packed lunch will be provided for everyone.

Where: Epworth Park, 116 Finlay Rd, Maungataurtari
Please bring:
  • Aqua shoes, jandals, or old sneakers to protect your feet across the sand. 
  • Rash-shirt and shorts/boardies/leggings, you don't mind getting wet.
  • Change of clothes 
  • Sun hat, sunscreen, sweatshirt (if cold), and your drink bottle 
  • Cost: FREE!
