Rotohoe ki Ngongotaha is the culmination of the five race circuit of some of the Te Arawa Lakes. The points table suggests that most divisions are still there for the taking, however you need to be in to win! Eligibility to win or place in your division means that you need to have competed in at least three of the Rotohoe races*.
We thank all local clubs and paddlers for their support, but, in particular, those who travelled from as far as Auckland, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Whanganui and Porirua.
Spot prizes:
All individual paddlers and teams who have participated in three or more Rotohoe races^ and have pre-registered for the Ngongotaha race will go in the draw for a spot prize (collectively worth more than $1200!). These will be pre-drawn and posted on the waka website and available for collection upon registration on race day. We hope that this will then speed up the final prizegiving, so that travelling paddlers are not delayed on their trip home.
Final prizegiving:
The final prizegiving will commence immediately after Race 2 in celebration of the winners of the qualifying divisions i.e. those with more than three competing crews within that division. We will also acknowledge the many who raced, but whose divisions did not qualify, due to low levels of participation with a gift basket.
