Waka Ama nationals was held in strong winds gusting up to 30km.

This made conditions challenging for all paddlers especially in the midget/intermediate divisions which had some races postponed to the following day.

However great skill was shown by the Junior 19 and Junior 16 crews in negotiating the turns in trying conditions.
