New Life Jacket Rules

It has always been common sense — now it's the law.

On 21 March 2003, Maritime Rule Part 91 came into effect, which means you must carry a life jacket for every person on board your boat.

Make sure everyone on your boat has a life jacket that meets the New Zealand Standard or is MSA approved. It is essential that the life jackets fit each person properly, especially children.

To help you meet the new requirements, complete the form on the registration page by 31 May 2003 and we'll send you a voucher entitling you to 20% off the price of a life jacket from participating manufacturers and retailers. Plus you'll be in to win great boating safety prizes.
