The National Waka Ama Association "Nga Kaihoe o Aotearoa" launched this website in December 2002 and it has been gaining in popularity ever since.

Over 100 people now visit www.wakaama.co.nz everyday, generating over 70,000 hits per month.

The website has been designed as an information hub for new Zealand paddlers, and it hosts a wealth of valuable information. The most popular sections are the news and race calendar.

A recent addition to the website is an online registration system that has been developed for the Waka Ama Sprint Nationals. The registration system allows designated club representatives to register teams and paddlers for the event.
