Notice - W1 canoe stolen from Porirua

On 23rd or 24th June (Thursday night or Friday morning) someone stole our W1.

I wonder if it's the same mongrel that stole the W1 from Whakatane. (Fits the time frame)

The W1 is like the stolen canoe in Whakatane, a Victor Hawker Sea Runner. Like the canoe in Whakatane it was on a rack with other canoes at Porirua Harbour where nothing like this has ever happened before. The canoe had an awesome history with former owners being Andrew Penny and Rob Kawai and still holds the fastest time for the Tauranga hoe. The stolen canoe will be passed off as newly spray painted canoe as it was primed up ready for painting.

So the characteristics of the canoe are:
* Grey or freshly painted, you can tell a new spray paint job
* Underneath the original colours are orange, yellow with a purple stripe
* Inside the cockpit is purple
* The pedal mounting and rudder is missing which is unusual for a sea runner.

I've uttered the appropriate karakia for the mongrel who has stolen our canoe which was used exclusively by our rangatahi. So if you know of any appropriate karakia or know of any information please let me know. Also could you please keep an eye out in your local trade & exchange, www.trademe.co.nz and regattas for our canoe and the canoe stolen from Whakatane we would most appreciate it and also encourage you to lock up your gear, there are thieves in our midst.
