With the arrival of a large contingent of international paddlers for the World Sprint Champs at Karapiro, we are experiencing considerable international interest in the Hoe.

We have had expressions of interest from teams from Hawaii and Australia with a further possibility of Tahitian paddlers participating.

The NZ Men's World Sprint Team Coaches have mandated that this year, because of the World Champs, those paddlers who are members of the NZ contingent cannot participate in the Hauraki Hoe.

So Clubs, it's your chance to get the rest of your Club members/teams in the spotlight whilst the "Big Guns" are out of the picture.

Get your teams together, get out on the water and start training (if you haven't already done so). This is an exciting event that will include international competitors and will be covered by Maori TV.
