A number of options were investigated to see if a race in some form could be held but in the end it was just not viable.

It is through no fault of the paddlers that the Hoe is being cancelled.

It is an unfortunate reality that the Worlds have claimed the bulk of the paddlers this year. The race organisers respect the decision of the selectors to prevent the NZ Crews from entering the Hoe.

We wish all NZ crews the very best of success at the Worlds.

The organisers wish to thank those teams that did support the Hoe through their race entries and hope that they will support us again in 2007.
