We have some crews coming from Wellington and the far north to participate.  If you have trouble getting a team for the OC9 together try hooking up with some paddlers on our chat site. We want everyone to participate and have a great time and a great race. Please let us know you need a canoe as we have arranged OC6’s for hire. 

Any paddlers wishing to find a relay partner please leave a quick message in the chat area. Remember your individual times are also calculated, so you are not penalised for being with someone slower than you.

Yes! We are doing the OC2 relay. We are predicting that most of you will want to do the race with three paddlers, i.e. one paddler change at the relay station.

If your crew has absolutely exhausted all options for a support boat for the OC9 race please contact [email protected]. We will try our best to arrange one for you, the fee is $360 to pay the support boat captain.

Apologies there was an error on the website, here are the confirmed fees:

• OC9 - the race cost is $50 per paddler, $450 total.
• OC1 Relay – the race cost is $20 per paddler, $40 total.
• OC2 Relay – the race cost is $20 per paddler.
• We are strict on late penalties, $20 per paddler. The registration team have lots of experience with excuses so if you have an excuse make it a real good one!

In order to provide kai after the race please pay your registration fees, so we can confirm catering.  Please see the website with for direct bank account details or make the cheque payable to ‘Takapuna Beach Cup’.

On race day there will be three camera crews operating on the support boats capturing footage of the race.  This exciting action will be available to all on the Takapuna Beach Cup DVD.  Each race will be approximately 60 minutes long. The DVD will cost $59.95 (including GST, cheaper than Hamilton Island DVD).  Contact Kingi.
