Results - TPOTI 2007 Waka Ama Sprints Day 1

New venue, new teams, new clubs, the TPOTI 2007 - Waka Ama Sprints is underway

The new format of moving the venue around the region every year, kicked off at Lake Rotoma this morning.

A credit to the host clubs, for all the hard work behind the scenes, and those from Te Au Rere that helped in the transition to the new venue.

With brilliant conditions for racing, the midgets 250m sprints were first on the water.

Day one consisting of Midget, Intermediate and J16 teams racing 500m and 1000m events. This is also the first time we have had progressions for Bowl, Plate and Champ finals.

A big welcome to Turangawaewae Waka Sports who are competing for the first time at this event.

An awesome turnout from the all clubs, and great to see the future of our sport out on the water.

Full results for the day are attached below.

Opa Roozy is on his way to Raro to provide us with coverage for the Vaka Eiva, so I had to step in and take a few photos of the day.
