After much consideration and in consultation with our organising committee as well as other International Outrigging organisations, the decision has been taken to hold the Hauraki Hoe on a bi-annual basis, commencing March 2009.

In recognition of the history of the event and in acknowledging the journey of the Hawaiki Nui double waka that sailed from Tahiti, to Rarotonga - Cook Islands and Aotearoa/NZ, we would like to align this event more closely with the Hawaiki Nui race held in Tahiti.

These two events were sanctioned by the then known IPCF, now IVF, in Sacramento in 1992 by Edward Mamaatua.

Please note the format of the event will change with possible introduction of a new course(s).
