Lake Rotoma was packed with Waka and people rearing to get a few k's paddled in the first race of the Roto Hoe season. The weather gave the race an extra challenge, by throwing in a little mix of rain and wind.

The race was well attended and a big thanks to the those crews who travelled from Auckland and Gisborne - great to have your support. Also, all our local TPOTI clubs - really awesome to see you come to this race in huge numbers!

The smiles on the paddlers faces at the end of the day certainly made the day worthwhile.

A big thanks for all the hard work done behind the scenes as well.
