FINANCES
The impact of distributing invoices for outstanding fees to participants at the 2008 National Secondary Schools event has allowed payment to creditors and a more positive operations bank account.

There are common misunderstandings of the NKOA "affiliation" fee and invoicing periods. Clubs and Regions must recognise that payment for affiliation fees will be invoiced quarterly regardless of what event is occurring at the time. Invoices distributed in September were for members on club rosters between July - September. Payment for this period was due on the 1st December.

If new members are added to club rosters between October - December an invoice will be generated in January for payment on the 1st March.

There are clubs holding off 1st December payments to include new members they have added to rosters from October 1st for the 2009 Nationals. This is unnecessary stress and panic.

2009 NATIONAL SPRINTS
Panui #2 will be released within the next week; the need to include information from this meeting has resulted in publication delays.

W1 - Again reminder that there will be no restriction to W1 type or number of canoes as sufficient space will be available. Regional coordinators will be required to manage allocated areas and clearways on race day.

A small team of voluntary Head Officials will act as the Race Committee headed by Peter Low. Once again more details in Panui #2.

Looking forward into 2009 and 2010 a National Selection Process information HUI will be organised for all interested parties during the 2009 National Sprints. Check Panui #2 for more details or contact your Regional Rep.

Caterers are still needed to provide sustenance to Organisers, volunteer helpers and security. A Quotation process will be posted on the NKOA website by Wednesday 17th December.

GOVERNANCE RELATIONSHIPS
As 2009 draws to an end, relationship building continues and communication with SPARC, TPK, and Water Safety NZ over the last month shows great promise and partnerships for the sport of Waka Ama.
