Update - Tai Tonga Marathon

Weather Forecast:
Southeasterlies dying out Friday 24th. Developing Northerly 10knots Saturday morning, turning Northeasterlies during the day. Cloud increasing in afternoon with possible evening rain. Temperatures 17 degrees during the day. Low tide 10am.

Race Entries:
A good number of entries have been received so far with the first race kicking off at 9.30am, W6-10km Womens race, 10 registrations to date. Also plenty of interest for the 5km race including a team coming all the way from Auckland.

Special Notes:
There are crews from out of Wellington who are wanting to race but are having difficulty securing waka. If you have waka not being used for any races can you please reply email expressing your support with use of your waka.

When arriving to Evans Bay please adhere to parking notices and marshalls. Waka drop off areas are precisely that. You will be kindly asked to quickly move you vehicle to a more appropriate area. Assistance may be available to help with unloading.

As this is ANZAC Day we will have a minute silence at the beginning of the day in acknowledgement of those who fought for Aotearoa and koha collected, which will be given to the ANZAC Poppy Day appeal.

Looking forward to a fun day. With the weather prediction please be prepared to do 80% of the paddling because there may not be much help of the Tawhirimatea or Tangaroa.
