The day was filled with waiata, Te Reo and History o Mataatua special mention to Pouroto Ngaropo for making the day really special. Winning Team for the Team Waiata Competition - The Lil Indians.

And then there was the racing, Midgets through to Open, Whanau Mixed and Corporate Sections seeing 55 teams entered, this fun whanau regatta always brings paddlers out of the wood work, nanny, and koro paddling with moko, team mates paddling with work colleagues, fierce competition to be the top team for each of the 10 categories.

The two Whanau Mixed categories Social/Novice and Open saw an increase in teams entered this year, making it more popular than the Corporate Section. Prizes for the day are always great, with the prided Mataatua Waka Committee T/shirt going to all the First Place getters in each category.
