June Camp – Mens Worlds Campaign 2010

Regardless of the minus 2 degree weather at Lake Tikitapu in Rotorua, 54 stanch men and a dedicated coaching and support team worked towards the objective of achieving medals at 2010 worlds in Noumea.

Despite a few minor hiccups like chunks of ice floating on the lake, the Aotearoa Mens Contingency braved the cold to prove that they wanted to be a part of a medal winning combination.

The Men moved through some vigorous assessments that tested their ability to paddle, blend and work together. Failure was not an option and the coaches made sure everyone was given the opportunity to be the best they could be. The fitness assessment made for some pretty intensive individual performances (with sound effects!)

Many thanks to the of the dedication of the coaching and management team and for all the paddlers who made the commitment to attend and be a part of a cohesive, talented and competitive campaign for gold. Look forward to seeing you at the satelite camps in July.

Special thanks to Te Wananga o Aotearoa, Hoe Aroha, Blue Lake Holiday Park & EBOP (Council) for their support
