There is a lot of construction going on there at the moment in anticipation of the Rowing World Champs in 2010.
We meet to discuss site logistics and how to work around the construction areas, while not effecting racing and spectators
I also wanted to let you know a few of the changes that are coming up. Some of these are due to the feedback we received in the nationals survey this year.
- Panui 1 is due out any day now, we are just waiting for some issues with the race rules to be sorted.
- All the roads at Karapiro are now sealed, so it will be much easier to get around.
- We will be increasing the number of disability carparks
- Parking, we are introducing a day pass for parking, and the parking tickets will have a receipt on the back for those that need to claim reimbursements.
- Vendors, we are moving all vendors down to the bottom of the embankment, so it will be easier for paddlers to checkout the vendors without straying far from the racing.
- Toilet and shower facilities, all the new toilet and shower facilities that were under construction this year, are now completed.
- Construction of the new $4 million dollar community hall facility is well underway, and will likely be completed by March 2010.
