Results - Bo Herbert Memorial Race
Thanks to all who supported and competed at the Bo Herbert Memorial in Tutukaka, we had another really enjoyable day with good weather, great company and competition
Congratulations to Bernie the winner of Bo's Memorial Trophy, Bernie is getting even faster on her new pink waka!
Some highlights of the weekend were Bryce and Troy of Team Goodyear who were neck and neck for 5kms towards the end of the race .
Jeff Ah Kuoi for skilled ama lifting over some startled snorklers at Wellingtons beach, Esther and Shelleys 1st equal finish in the Womens OC1 Relay (finishing on the same wave after 30km), and a few paddlers taking a gamble through a gap in the rocks which put them towards the front of the pack (if you didn't knock your rudder on the way through)!
Thank you to: Schnappa Rock for the awesome meal and prizegiving, Maui Jim Sunglasses for the prizes, Paul Wilford (Ocean Elements) Moananui, Steinlager, Poynter and Associates, Mike and Roni, Jase Porter, Tai Paddles, Dive Tutukaka, Local Clubs - Mitimitaga and Te Puu Ao for local knowledge and help. And especially to all our support boat drivers!
