Update - Takapuna Beach CUP
Entry numbers are now just about complete and we will have a record field this year – up 25% on last year.
We are holding a pre-race gathering at the Takapuna Boat Club on Friday from 5pm to 7pm.
If you can make it come along, the race organisers will be there to answer any of your questions and we will have registration packs available and also some of our Takapuna Beach Cup T shirts etc so be in quick as with such big entry numbers these might go fast.
The bar will be open for some last minute carbo-loading (yeah right) and for those crews interested in rigging their canoes Friday, there will be security on guard Friday night to keep watch on the grassed area adjacent to the Takapuna Boating Club – your canoes should be safe there.
A slight change to the itinerary also. We are going to have the post race meal on Saturday at the same venue (R’TOTO’s Takapuna) but we will now start the meal at 5.30pm. The prize giving will follow the meal kicking off at about 6.30pm – 7.00pm.
The race briefing on Saturday will be as published at 9.30am, so please be early so we can get the big field away on time – race start 11.00am with full details on www.takapunabeachcup.com.
All the best for an enjoyable race, weather looks pretty good so hopefully we will be in for some fast times and some great racing.
