Rotohoe - Rotoiti Fundraiser

In support of the Christchurch Earthquake Ruamata would invite paddlers to the next Rotohoe at Rotoiti on 12th March 2011 to pay fees of $15 per senior paddler and $10 per junior Paddler with profit from the Rotohoe to be donated to the disastrous event in the South Island.

All paddlers are invited to Hinehopu Reserve known as Te Tahuna in an area called Koroki o te Wao beneath the sheltering mantle of Matawhaorua to race the "Paketo Island Flyer" for 6man waka before returning to Emery's Store on your route back to Te Tahuna. That race is approximately 16 kilometers.

Secondly single/2man/ and stand up paddlers can also race an 8-10 km course called the "Honeymoon Bay Dash" which requires you to paddle all of the bays until you reach a red buoy which will be placed at the most eastern end of Honeymoon Bay around which you must turn to speed home with haste. Stand up paddlers are also invited to race this course as well.
