WAIKUTA SERIES
The series will involve single, 2 person, 3 person and Stand Up single paddlers to race over a series of distances ranging from 10km and then a range of sprint races over 500m, 1000m, and 2000m.

10KM
The long race will be run 1st at 8am to allow a 1.5 hr time frame to complete that race. All paddlers for that race must be ready to go at 8am

SPRINTS
Regardless of sex, young, and old can do the sprint races which then start at 10am with groups to be defined by the number of paddlers that turn up for sprints.
Each group will then complete the 3 separate sprints together with 2 minute rest between each sprint. The group will start with 500m then 1000, and then 2000m. Each race will be timed.
If the number of sprint competitors is "sufficiently" small then discretion will be exercised to run further heats during the race day based on times for the sprints.
If the numbers are large then the next race day in the series will be used to finalise the best, the better, and the good for final race day in August.

SAFETY
A safety boat will be available for the long race. However each paddler must have a life jacket, and spare paddle with a bailer necessary as well as minimum safety requirements.
Clothing should be appropriate to winter although we expect and hope weather and wind will be comfortable.

COST
$10 per paddler is payment for race entry.

VENUE
The venue is at 48 Waikuta Road, Ngongotaha.
Enter Ngongotaha and locate Beaumonts road. Travel down that road, over railway, turn right on to Parawai Road. Travel to Prestons Road, and then Waikuta Road. Turn right cross stream bridge and you are there.
