Kia ora Waka Whanau

We're doing our best to provide some competitive racing in different conditions for those "hearty" paddlers off to the Long Distance Nationals in October - this marathon is a 'dress rehearsal' for LDN. You will see by the format that it will provide the distances and different types of water, over 2 days = Maraetai is harbour paddling with a mixture of cross wind and current. Ian Shaw Park is flatter water with headwind and only 1 current in/out. With the mixture of different water and conditions, we hope to cater to the needs of whatever Gisborne waters can throw at us!

This race provides the opportinity for yourself and/or team to test "your" theories, race strategies, nutritional/hydration regimes and basic endurace under race conditions. If it needs any 'tweeking' you can do so BEFORE the actual event. Nothing worse then figuring it out AFTER the big race huh!?
