ACE's Race- The countdown is on!
Only a matter of days until the inaugural event. It’s going to be a very memorable one too. We look forward to sharing this special occasion with you all and to providing some very competitive racing! To date we have 138 paddlers in Saturday's race and just over 60 competitors on Sunday which includes W1, W2, W6’s and SUP boards. Approximately 200 competitors over the two days. We’re looking forward to this historic event and to being your hosts!
Voyaging Waka – Te Aurere & Aotearoa 1 accompanying the Ace Race from Aratika – Waitemata Harbour to Tamaki club and estuary – 23k:
Ngati Whatua have acknowledged the occasion of Ace’s Race by having Te Aurere and Aotearoa 1 voyaging waka accompany the fleet of waka racing on Saturday 29th October.
If anyone is interested in being aboard the voyaging waka, the cost is $30/person which goes towards the maintenance of the waka. Register your interest at [email protected] – be quick as numbers are limited. This is a one off special occasion in Ace’s honour.
Payment:
There are some who have registered and not paid. Can you please see to this urgently so we can deliver on a successful event. Also those paid by the cut off date go in to the draw for the ultimate “special prize” for the inaugural race. Just a reminder that there are no registrations on the day. Registration packs can be picked up Friday afternoon by a team representative. All teams must wear the race tops during the race. No top, no race.

Unveiling Update
Remembrance service at Grande Chancellor Hotel, 11am, Friday, 28 October. Depart to Mangere Lawn Cemetery 12midday. Unveiling 12:30pm. 1pm return to the Grande Chancellor for light refreshments.
