NZ Elections - get voting Vaka Eiva paddlers!

A special message for those paddlers traveling to Rarotonga for Vaka Eiva

Kia orana All,

I have been sent a special request from the New Zealand High Commission in Rarotonga to all of our New Zealand paddlers, supporters and families coming to the Cook Islands for Vaka Eiva 2011. Could I please ask that you all forward this message to anyone you know that will be here on the 26th November for the NZ General Election(we will all be enjoying ourselves at the Muri Sprints…)

For all those paddlers coming to Raro from NZ, dont forget that the 2011 General Election will take place in New Zealand on Saturday 26 November.

Voting booths are open from Wednesday 9 November. It is strongly recommended that NZ'er's coming for Vaka Eiva in November, cast their vote in advance before leaving NZ

There are 4 options if you know you will be overseas on election day and want to vote in the General Election :

1) Cast an advance vote before leaving New Zealand

2) Download your voting papers from www.elections.org.nz

3) Apply for postal voting papers

4) If you have not voted before you leave NZ you can cast your vote at the NZ High Commission in Rarotonga - but please note this will take some time out of your day as the High Commission expects to be processing a large number of voters.
