Race Results - Air Tahiti Nui Aotearoa Aito

The 4th annual Air Tahiti Nui Aotearoa Aito race was held at Kohimarama Beach on Saturday. Vesna Radonich, Kingi Gilbert, Milla Brown and Rhei Pare all won tickets to Tahiti to compete in Te Aito thanks to Air Tahiti Nui!

Big thanks to all those who entered and supported the race! It was a challenging course for all that took part. The longest leg of the triangle circut was the surf leg and a nice easterly provided some great surf for our paddlers to enjoy.

Kingi Gilbert beat 2011 champion Jerry Mihimana and looked strong throughout the 24km distance.

Vesna Randonich proved she is the top female V1 paddler by winning the race convincingly for the second year in a row.
Junior Milla Brown finished 2nd overall in the women’s race and was the first junior girl home ahead of her twin sister Kata. Rhei Pare was a clear favourite in the junior men’s category and took the honors ahead of Mitch Olds from Australia.

Daryl Leaf took home a brand new Carbon Viper Va'a Paddle!

We were again joined by international paddlers and supporters. It is exciting to have guests from overseas come to compete against our very best. International paddlers were:

Jerry Mihimana - New Caledonia
Mitch Olds - Australia
Rebecca Rasmussen - Australia
Brittany Green - Australia
Teaicia Adams - Australia
Matt Wickham - Australia
Daryl Leaf - Australia
