Whaingaroa Whanau Hoe Waka invites paddlers and supporters to our annual Whaingaroa Ironperson Hoe on May 26th in Raglan


Entries open on May 1st and close on Monday 21st May


A special invitation to all women's teams to compete in the womens 24km W6 race where the first women's team to cross the line is awarded the Chrissy Herbert Memorial Trophy. Chrissy was a top NZ steerswoman who fell ill and later passed away while competing in Raglan in 2001. We have a great turn out every year to honour Chrissy and we thank her family, her paddling friends and all wahine paddlers for supporting the race.

WAHINE MOE - SPECTATOR BOAT
If you were at the 2011 Whaingaroa Hoe, you would have seen the fantastic spectator boat the Wahine Moe on the water for the Womens and Mixed Race. We are pleased to offer paddlers and supporters the chance to watch the 24km mens W6 race on board the Wahine Moe. There are only 55 spots available @ $15 per person. To secure your spot please email [email protected] The $15 includes a sausage sizzle, 2 - 3 hours of watching the race, free bus from venue to Boat, Hot drink, there is also bar facilities on board at your extra cost. Bus transport will be leaving race venue at 1.45pm.


CLUB POINTS
Again we will be rewarding the top club with a $250 cash prize
Points will be awarded as follows:


1st = 20 points
2nd = 15 points
3rd = 10 points
participating/ completing course = 5 points

(points will be awarded in divisions where there are 8 or more entries)


SUPPORTERS MEALS ARE $10 each - please indicate how many supporter meals you require when you enter your team

Sorry we do not have any Waka available for hire, however in the past clubs from Hamilton, Rotorua, Ngaruawahia, Tauranga and Huntly have had Waka available for travelling teams please contact them via contact details on the Waka Ama website.
