Kaiārahi – Waka Ama (Portfolio Owner) has a commitment to produce viable high quality programmes that exceed whanau demands and expectations. The result of this commitment is demonstrated through the leadership of programmes, effective communication, action results of marau (curriculum documentation), moderation and other programme activities within a Waka Ama landscape. This role ensures that there is consistency of delivery and maintenance of high quality programmes.
Applicants need to have a high level of knowledge and expertise in the Waka Ama arena, a relevant tertiary qualification preferably at a Masters level and/or be enrolled in postgraduate studies.
Applicants should also have some knowledge of Tikanga, Te Reo Māori and the Safe Shipping Management Systems. Team work, facilitation, co-ordination, leadership and positive relationship investment activities are highly sought skills.
You will need a commitment to produce viable high quality programmes that exceed whanau demands and expectations and you need to be IT knowledgeable. Applicants need to have great communication and interpersonal skills as a core component of this role is liaising between internal and external stakeholders.
