New Zealand Post Corporate Waka Ama Challenge - Auckland
Yesterday 32 teams of NZ Post employees gathered at Orakei Basin for a hot and sunny, fun filled day of waka ama!!
Everyone came in the Christmas spirit and got into the racing with some great times being recorded!
Team Marua 1 took our first place in the championship final, followed closely by Avondale Pirates in 2nd place and Hound Doggies in 3rd place.
Team Marua 1 and Avondale Pirates will now travel to Karapiro and compete in the New Zealand Post Corporate Waka Ama Final on Saturday 19th January!
A big thank you to all the clubs and volunteers that helped up with the event yesterday and also in the weeks leading up to the event coaching teams in preparation for their big event! The coaching must have been pretty good because the teams all looked great out on the water!
Team Cool Runnings and Manukaus 1 took out the prizes for best dressed team! Well done and thanks for getting into the spirit of the day
We look forward to more NZ Post waka ama racing this time next year!
