With deepest sorrow we mourn the loss of Rawiri, for whom sleep
shall be eternal, that which can never be erased, who shall now reside in the realm
of the Lord, Tread the pathway of Tane
to the resting place of loved ones, the pathway that is never traversed ( by
the living ) and of which there is no backward glance.
Rawiri Rangitauira who passed away suddenly 27th
July, was a stalwart of the TPOTI paddling community, a key organiser of the
Rotohoe series, a TPOTI committee member, a Worlds 2008 contributor, a ‘keen
as’ paddler and kaumatua of Ruamata Waka Ama. You will be sorely missed our friend.
Funeral Service for Rawiri

Rawiri is lying at Tunohopu Marae, Rotorua. On Thursday 31st July at 11am, a service will be held before he is laid to rest at Pukepoto Urupa.
