Adaptive-Waka Ama
At this years Nationals we will be holding several Adaptive-Waka Ama exhibition races on Saturday 17 January.
Many of our clubs have already been in contact with Conan Herbert to arrange teams/paddlers for these exhibition races.
Crews
- Can be from club, region, or mixed region.
- must have a minimum of 3 paddlers with a physical disability
- must have a minimum of 2 female paddlers
- Able bodied paddlers can be from existing club teams
Race
- Exhibition race (no medals), no entry fee
- 250m Race on Saturday morning and then a 500m race (after the NZ Post corporate race 12pm),
- All waka will be rigged with a safety ama (this will make it fair)
- We will also hold a W1 race just before the 250m Dash races.
