Today/tonight 10pm is your final chance to register for our open ocean outrigger race here in Tauranga Moana called the "Karewa Island Race" which for many years has been a training playground for members from Hoe Aroha Waka Ama Club as well as host to many Karewa Outrigger races over the years.
The weather is looking mint on the day...and the event is going ahead. Important reminder that each paddler needs to present themselves & their vaccine passport at registration. Mask up!!!
A reminder that registration opens at 9am, we are at Whareroa Boat Ramp & carpark (google map it, event signs will be erected). Feel free to arrive early to offload support boats & waka as and if you need.
We would also like to advise that the IRON race will start at approximately 1030am & the Changeover will start at approximately 1045am (note time change from program).
Support Boat Race brief for ALL support boats including changeover support boats is at 10am by the admin tent. (Support boat details will be collected at this time.)
Race brief for ALL paddlers (iron & changeover) will be held at 1015am by the admin tent.
