During February and March 2012 the Bay of Plenty Regional Council Lakes Maritime Unit will be randomly inspecting all boats, canoes and kayaks ensuring that they have the appropriate number of lifejackets and of the right size for each individual on their vessel. Failure to carry the correct number of lifejackets and or the correct size will incur an instant infringement of $200.
