Description

This event celebrates Ngā Mata o te Ariki Tāwhirimātea - the large cluster of stars that signify the start of the Māori New Year. This event is a collaboration between different sports codes based around the southern end of Wellington Harbour - Evans Bay/Akau Tangi. Promoting water safety, environmental awareness and marine conservation. Tai Tonga 41 41° Outrigger Canoe Club invites waka ama clubs - please contact your club administrator to enter.

Race Schedule and Categories
Race 1 – 8am
  • Two distances available short (8-10 km) and long (16 – 18km)
  • W6 - men and mixed
  • W2 - women and mixed
  • W1 - women
Race 2 – 10.30am
  • Two distances available short (8-10 km) and long (16 – 20km)
  • W6 - woman and mixed
  • W2 - men
  • W1 - men
Race 3 – 1pm
  • Relay – 3x 1km
  • Enter in teams of three
  • Using any W1, SUP, Kayak, surf ski
  • Handicaps will be imposed where required.
