The Maraetai races were held in testing sea conditions, but the sun was shining and a good time was had by all. Pupuke Moana Young Guns won the open mens race, beating Waitakere Team West for the first time.

A beautiful day welcomed paddlers at Bucklands each for the Tamaki races last weekend. The conditions for paddling were excellent and there was a lot of close racing up towards and around Browns Island.

We are now halfway through the series. In most race categories points are very close amongst the frontrunners. Overall, Waitakere is a long way ahead in the overall club points, but Manukau, Pineula and Taniwha are all close for the second place points.

The next event is being hosted by the Cook Islands Club at Long Bay on 10 July. This is an important day as it's a double points event. This is the first time the series has visited Long Bay so it will be a new experience for everybody. See you there!!
