Nomination forms can be collected form any AuSM reception, AUT Sport and Fitness Centre on Akoranga drive or email [email protected]

Nominations can be made for anyone who competed at senior regional, national or international level from September 2005 to August 2006. New Zealand age grade, New Zealand University and representative teams from other countries may also be eligible for a University Blue Award.

A University Blue is the highest Sporting accolade that can be attained at University level. The Blues are part of a tradition dating back to 1922 in New Zealand and earlier in England, where the colours of Oxford and Cambridge Universities came to symbolise excellence in sport.

Initially Blues were only awarded to sports competed for at University Tournaments, however there are now many tournaments where top student athletes can compete at Regional, National and International level, so it can be applied to a broader spectrum.

An AUT Blues dinner is to be held on Friday 6th of October 2006. At this ceremony an AUT Sportsman and AUT Sportswoman and the 2006 Athlete of the year will also be selected from among the AUT Blue recipients.
