For anyone who might be interested, the team is still looking for more men, 69 years old and over to boost their numbers.
Six paddlers all over the age of seventy years have got together to form the first ever Master 70 Waka Ama Mens team. Their hope is to compete at the National Sprints in January and then go on to represent New Zealand at the 2016 IVF VA’A World Club Sprint Championships to be held in Australia.
Their
ages range from 70years to 76years, making their combine ages 437 years.
As one team member recently stated, “What they lack in youth, they more than make up for in experience and enthusiasm”.
The group has already decided on a team name which they feel best reflects their generation …. TEAM ROCK ‘N’ ROLL.
