The collective clubs of the Hauraki Summer Series have made the heavy and hard decision after all of the mahi has been done to cancel the 2022 series. No one is more devastated than the organising commitees of each club. We have had to put our care and concern for our four small communities, our members, our paddlers and your paddlers first. We have explored every avenue and we have pivoted, re-sanctioned and re-organised as our national response to the pandemic has had to shift and we now face members moving into isolation and growing cases nationally that tell us the series cannot be completed in its entirety. We are four very small yet hearty clubs who have successfully provided events for our waka whānau for a number of years and we look forward to collaborating to bring opportunities for coming together and racing on the moana again once we are through this coming wave.
