Description

TPOTI Regional Sprint Champs 2025 - Paddler / Spectator Survey - Be in to Win!

Well another year of TPOTI Regional Sprint Champs is done and dusted! But we're not finished yet! With a 16% increase in entry numbers we were officially the largest regional sprints in Aotearoa New Zealand and also it was our largest Regionals ever!

We're wanting those who attended to provide your feedback to help us:
  • Improve for the 2026 Event
  • Offer new ideas and opportunities
  • and provide data back to our funders and the TPOTI Board.
By completing this survey you go into the draw for a Waka Ama NZ Nationals 2026 Event Shirt - to be picked up at Nationals

Please complete this survey by the 31st of December 2025! Or just do it now. Quick and easy and while your experience and ideas are fresh in your mind.

"Update 1st December 2025 - The Lane Draw and Race Schedule are issued. Please refer to the Lane Draw for ESTIMATED Start times. Please also note an updated (replaced version of the Paanui) which reflects the new start times (earlier than the last Paanui).

All W1 paddlers must ensure the waka they are using are not being shared the 3 races either side of their race - as with Nationals we will not wait for people sharing waka. You must ensure your waka is available. As a Nationals qualifier event it is important you check."

Tēnā koutou e te whānau!
Regional Sprints are here and we are looking forward to having all of our Te Puku o Te Ika Kaihoe back here at Lake Karapiro for what will be an epic weekend of regional racing. Please make sure you open and read Paanui 1 - 2025 Event Information - for more in depth information about the event.

A few important notes:
  1. All divisions will be provided up to 3 races. Turns races will be prioritised as a means of providing practice on the Nationals course for the W6 teams. Races may be changed to straight races (no turns) should the programme run behind time.
  2. J16 and J19 Women and Men W6 Races - Schedule Change - We are moving these grades in the W6 to Saturday afternoon. Please refer to Paanui for details. Please ensure your parents, coaches and managers are aware of this change.
  3. Volunteers - no event is possible without volunteers, please share the love by encouraging whānau to register to volunteer over the weekend. Clubs are requested to provide at least 3 volunteers for the entire weekend. Register via the link on the Paanui or Click here
  4. Club Representative – Please review the Paanui in detail to register your club reps for the event. There are a number of key dates to meet for entries and payments. Please also ensure your club is a financial member of TPOTI prior to entering the event. Please ensure your paddlers are also reaffiliated to Waka Ama NZ. October is a busy month getting club memberships, TPOTI membership, Waka Ama NZ Affiliations sorted. Non affiliated members will be unable to enter the event.
  5. This year we will be running V1 Adaptive Men and Adaptive Women races - a heat and final - these are not qualifier races, however we are excited to be able to offer this category to support their preparation for National Sprints. Please see the paanui for details.
Please share it out to your clubbies and support whānau.
