Entries open now for the Whakaraupō Chase Friday 4 & Saturday 5 March 2022 hosted by Te Waka Pounamu OCC. Whakaraupō, Lyttleton Harbour. Event under CPF Red Setting, My Vaccine Pass required, and masks mandatory except when paddling. All information online. Please read the event race pack and covid pānui. Race Update - CANCELLED - Hauraki Series Race 1 Te Puru
Due to the weather forecast and the decision by Coastguard for support boats, the Hauraki Series Race 1 Te Puru has been cancelled for the safety of paddlers. Event hosts are working on a reschedule date and more information will be released early next week! Information will be made available online when it is ready.

2022 Secondary School Waka Ama Nationals Cancelled
Due to the current Covid Omicron outbreak and Aotearoa being in the Covid Protection Framework Red setting for an unknown period of time, Waka Ama NZ has made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2022 Secondary School Waka Ama Nationals.

Waka Ama NZ Covid-19 Event Policy
In ensuring that Waka Ama NZ actively plays our part in reducing the spread of COVID-19 we have developed the Waka Ama COVID-19 Events Policy, which is released today. The draft policy was sent out for consultation to the waka ama whānau in December. A large number of responses were received and our thanks are extended to all who took the time to provide your thoughts and suggestions. Waka Ama NZ has taken into consideration your feedback, our values, and our obligations under the law (COVID-19 Protection Framework and Health & Safety at Work Act 2015) when finalising the policy.
