We understand that it is challenging and very difficult times for all our Waka Ama whānau, especially those in the Waikato and Tāmaki at level 3. We have received many queries in recent weeks, most relating to Nationals and vaccinations.

We are very much underway with organising Sprint Nationals and we know that many of you have questions about the event and whether it will be able to go ahead or not. Whilst we remain optimistic about the event we are aware of the unpredictable nature of the current COVID environment. Waka Ama NZ would like to provide a timeline whereby decisions will be made regarding the 2022 Sprint Nationals.

Tai Tonga 41 Waka Ama Outrigger Canoe Club race Ngā Mata o te Ariki Tāwhirimātea will go ahead this Saturday 23 October 2021. Evans Bay Yacht Club, Wellington Harbour. 3rd time lucky!
