Over the last few years NKOA / Waka Ama New Zealand has run several steering clinics in around the country. These have proved to be very popular. The notes used for the steering clinics were written by Lara in 2007 and have been updated a few times over years. We have attached them for clubs and paddlers to make the most of.

New Zealand born Suplove Co-Founder and 2013 NZ SUP Champion, Stuart Murray, will tomorrow (Friday 12 April) embark on a Two Oceans stand up paddle expedition. Stuart, who was one of the earliest adopters of the sport of Stand Up Paddle in Australia and who remains one of the most accomplished and accredited Stand Up Paddle Coaches, is excited about completing the challenge in his birth country and further establishing Stand Up Paddle as an international, destination and adventure sport.

16 paddlers from Te Waka Pounamu in Christchurch ventured out of the Lyttelton Harbour this Easter to paddle to Pigeon Bay, overnight there and paddle back the next day

The weather was amazing, paddling conditions were perfect and the array of paddlers that covered our shores here in Tauranga definitely made an impact on our harbour. It was an awe inspiring day with paddlers from as far as Australia, South Island, Far North, Gisborne & as near as Rotorua, Hamilton, Auckland & Tauranga all travelling to share in a piece of some paddle action.
